Azalea Effect - Where Your Guests Get A Warm Welcome Every Night

The Azalea Effect – Give Your Guests Get A Warm Welcome Every Night

I love springtime in Augusta. The explosion of leaves, animals and flowers is a sight to behold. Next month, the world will turn its gaze upon our fair city, as people from all over the globe travel here to attend our famous golf tournament. When the world looks at Augusta it sees images of perfectly groomed grass, elegantly trimmed trees, and beautiful azaleas in bloom each and every year. All of this combines to create what I call the ‘azalea effect’ –  when people see Augusta, they see something that is beautiful and elegant, yet subtle and understated. In Augusta, people see something that just looks right.

3 Reasons We Are the CSRA’s Premier Event Lighting Company

Quick riddle for you: what do the Academy Awards, the Royal Wedding, and Augusta’s Sacred Heart Garden Tour all have in common? Answer: Great Event Lighting.

Whether it be Backyard Parties, Elaborate Weddings, Office Celebrations, or Community Fundraisers, Quality Lighting Makes a Good Event Great

Although we are best known for installing permanent residential and commercial lighting systems, did you know that we also offer temporary lighting systems for special events? For many years, we have quietly been making a name for ourselves as the CSRA’s premier event lighting company. It has been our honor to light a wide variety of important events for our customers: from backyard parties to elaborate weddings, office celebrations to community fundraisers, we shine at special events where good lighting is a must.

So, why should you call us for your next special event?  Here are the top 3 reasons…

Our Lights…

1. Set the Right Mood for Your Special Event

Romantic, Elegant, Exciting, or Anything in-between, Let Us Create the Perfect Mood for your Special Event

We’ve all heard the term “mood lighting” used many times before. The term’s popularity is evidence of the power of light to shape our mood and experience of an event. Consider some of the most memorable events you have experienced. Whether it be a  romantic dinner with your partner, a performance piece that touched you deeply, or a particularly beautiful wedding, chances are, by intentional design (or blind luck), lighting played an important part in making that event so meaningful and memorable for you. Truly, good mood lighting has the power to make a good event great. Whether you are aiming for romantic, intimate, exciting, or anything in between, we have the practical experience, technical skill, and artistic sensibilities needed to help you create the perfect mood for your next special event.

 2. Make Your Event Planning Easier

Make event planning easier with Outdoor Lighting in augusta and aiken

Let Us Help you Take Care of Some Crucial Aesthetic and Practical Details to Ensure that your Special Event is Beautiful, Seamless, and Low Stress.

Let’s be honest – planning special events can present a quite a challenge. Consider all the details an event planner has to keep track of: does the caterer have all the equipment they need? Is the florist on time and on track? Which guests still need directions? Every event requires planners to juggle a lot of details, but the best events create a mood (and a host) that is calm, complimentary, and engaging. When you choose us, we help you by taking care of some of the most crucial aesthetic and practical details to ensure that your special event is beautiful, seamless, and most importantly, low stress. We will quietly set up our lights at a convenient time before your event, test/program them on site, and quickly take them down at a time that works best for you. With us, you get to rest a bit easier, trusting that there will be no hassle, no fuss, and no problems with our lights. We know that you’ve got enough to worry about, so let us help you enjoy the event you have worked so hard on.

3. Provide Lighting of Some of CSRA’s Most Prestigious Events

garden festival page marker editWe have worked hard to become the official event lighting company for some of the most discerning clients and prestigious events in the CSRA. We are proud to provide the lighting  for the Sacred Heart Garden Tour, Swamp Soiree, Blue Jean Ball, Historic Augusta’s Cotton Ball and Woodrow Wilson boyhood home, and many other stalwart community events. These events all have a well-deserved reputation, and we our happy to lend our lights to compliment and enhance the popularity and success of these must-attend events.

When you choose Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Augusta and Lake Oconee, we offer you a free consultation to learn about your event, and to design a lighting package that will best compliment the goals and mood of your special event. 1st Annual CSRA Hog Toss

Peter Alewine Pools, Fireside Grills, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives

Every so often, I like to dedicate a blog to something cool and interesting that is happening in our community. This is one of those blogs.

This Saturday, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Augusta and Lake Oconee will be supporting the 1st Annual CSRA Hog Toss. This fun local event is being put on by our friends and partners Pete Alewine Pool & Spa and Fireside Outdoor Kitchens & Grills.

Why Should You Come? Food, Games, & Prizes!   The Hog Toss will feature a Big Green Egg Cookoff competition and a Cornhole (bean-bag toss) tournament. Best off all, both events feature cash prizes for the winners! You can get more info or sign up for either event at the 1st Annual CSRA Hog Toss website.

Our friends and partners, Pete Alewine Pools & Spas

Needless to say,  I am pretty psyched for this weekend. My oldest son, Marc, will be representing OLP in the cookoff with his “Triple Threat Chili”. My youngest son, Jonathan, has been brushing up on his bean bag skills. I feel good about our chances, but you can be the judge…literally. For a small fee ($5) you can taste all of the food from the cookoff and vote for your favorite recipe while watching all of the nail-biting, adrenaline-pumping, bean-bag action. Or you can challenge us…if you dare.

Where and When Should You Go?  The Hog Toss will be held this Saturday from 10am-4 pm at Pete Alewine’s Evans location (4470 Washington Rd, Evans, GA 30809).Our friends and partners, Fireside Outdoor Kitchens & Grills

I am personally very excited to be participating in this event. We have done a lot of lighting jobs for Pete over the years and we are excited to be giving him some support in return. I think you should be excited for this event as well – its a chance to eat some great food, play some fun games, and register to win some cash along the way. Can you think of a better way to kick off your summer? Me neither. So, come on out.

If you have questions about outdoor lighting, or if you would like to see what our lights can do for your home this summer, give us a call at (706) 722-5711 in Augusta or (706) 484-9711 in Lake Oconee.

Hope to see you all at the Hog Toss,

The Cotton Ball – Lighting Up An Augusta Tradition

An Augusta Tradition since 1988

We Are Proud to be Lighting
Historic Augusta’sCotton Ball 2013

Today was a great day at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Augusta and Lake Oconee. I’ve said it many times before – May is my favorite month of the year. The flowers are blooming, local produce fills store bins, and the weather is almost perfect.

It is days like today that make me grateful to be working outside with my hands. Not only was the weather beautiful, but my crew also finished setting up some lighting for a really fantastic local event – Historic Augusta’s Cotton Ball.

What Is The Cotton Ball? Since 1988, the Cotton Ball is an annual tradition of Historic Augusta, Inc. Historic Augusta is an important local organization whose mission is to preserve some of our city’s most important and historic landmarks.

Where Is It Held?– The casual affair will take place in the gardens surrounding the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond John Doumar, located at 2644 Henry Street. The Doumar’s home was originally built in 1917 by architect Henry Ten Eyck Wendell, who designed many of the finest homes that were built in Augusta in the early 20th century. The Doumars are also long time clients of ours, and we are very proud to have done the lights for this party, as well as the lights for their house and their incredible backyard.

When Is It Happening? This Thursday, May 16th from 6:30-9:30pm.

How Much Does It Cost? The Cotton Ball is free with a membership to Historic Augusta, Inc. Not a member? No sweat, membership rates are very reasonable – just $50 for an individual and $85 for a couple. Again, all proceeds go to Historic Augusta and their mission of local preservation.

Our Lights Create an Elegant Atmosphere for Your Parties and Events

Why Should I Go? This will be wonderful opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal from Outback Steakhouse, refreshing drinks (Mint Julep, anyone?), and great music from a local group, The Unmentionables. You can also enjoy mingling in the beautiful May weather and in the warm glow of this beautiful home. For more information, check out Historic Augusta’s website.

Do you have an evening event coming up soon? No worries, we can help. In addition to residential and commercial lighting, we also specialize in event lighting. Whether it be weddings, special events (The Blue Jean Ball), festivals (Sacred Heart Garden Festival), or even private dinner parties, discerning customers know how a few of our lights can make a huge difference for their event.

Community Spotlight – Tri-Augusta Triathlon Club

At Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Augusta and Lake Oconee, we strive to be a business that gives back to our CSRA community. We believe that everyone prospers when local organizations consciously support the people and places that support them. The Tri-Augusta Club is one of these kind of groups.

Tri-Augusta Club

Tri-Augusta Club

You may know that a great event is happening in our community this weekend – the Augusta Half-Marathon.  You may not know that Augusta is developing reputation for being a national exercise hot-spot. Tri-atheletes from all over the world come to Augusta for events like the Half Iron Man and the Half Marathon. The Tri-Augusta Club is a big part of this.

The Tri-Augusta Club is a great local resource for people who love to exercise. They regularly host regular training exercises and social events.  At Tri-Augusta, you can find an exercise coach, training partners, or simply just a group of friends who like to live an active lifestyle. Best of all, the Tri-Augusta Club is open to anyone, from the 5k newbie to the Kona veteran.

Augusta Half Marathon

Half as Long – Twice As Cool

I have personally benefitted so much from being part of the Tri-Augusta Club and I want others to experience what has been so helpful to me. So, I have decided to help raise awareness and involvement in this important organization by donating prizes for a raffle to be held at the Half Marathon this Sunday. The Tri-Augusta Club will have a tent set-up at the race and the raffle will be giving away 5 $25.00 gift certificates to local restaurants. So, if you are running the Half-Marathon this weekend, or are simply interested in swimming, running or biking, stop on by and meet some folks who are interested in the same.

Running the Augusta Half Marathon Last Year

Every now and again I like to use a blog entry to highlight some cool and interesting things going on in our community. This week, I am talking about something that I am personally very excited about – the upcoming Augusta Half Marathon.

Some people run for fun, some people only run when a wild animal is chasing them. I use to be in the latter category, but now I’m in the former. I really enjoy running these days and its hard to believe that I only started running 13 months ago to train for last year’s half marathon.

I like that Augusta’s half marathon promotes several things that I am also passionate about – health, family, community and fun. There are so many benefits to regular exercise – weight loss, lower blood pressure, higher metabolism, and better cardiovascular strength. I love the way I feel after running – I think clearer, breathe easier, and  have more energy. I also appreciate that the half-marathon is family friendly. My family has come out to support me several times over this past year and nothing gets me more excited than hearing their cheers and applause. Its nice to have an event my family can attend together. The marathon is not only family supportive, but it also celebrates our local community. I am amazed at how this event has grown in popularity – last year the race brought in 1300 runners, this year the tally is up over 60% to almost 2000 people!

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Augusta - Our Littlest Fan.

Nothing keeps me going like seeing my Granddaughter cheer me on.

The race is also just flat out fun, which is a major reason why I am promoting it in this blog. I have invited several people to join me in running the half-marathon this year…how about you?

People run for many reasons, but I am running because I love this wonderful city that we live in and I want to support the things that make Augusta great. I also want to be one of those things that makes our city even better. I look forward to going the distance to satisfy all of your outdoor lighting needs. If you have any questions or if you would like learn more about what our lights can do for your home, give us a call at (706) 722-5711 in Augusta or (706) 484-9711 in Lake Oconee.
